Inheritance Dispute Lawyer in Karachi

When a family member passes away, inherited property should pass to the legal heirs by law — but too often shares are withheld, heirs are excluded, or property is quietly transferred away. GNS Law Associates resolves inheritance and wirasat disputes in Karachi, securing every heir's rightful share before the civil courts.

What We Do

Securing Every Heir's Rightful Share

Inheritance disputes turn on two things: correctly determining the legal heirs and their Sharia shares, and then compelling distribution or partition where someone refuses to share. Our lawyers establish the heirs, obtain the succession certificate or letter of administration, and pursue partition and recovery so the estate is divided as the law requires.

A recurring problem is the denial of women's inheritance — sisters, daughters, and widows pressured out of their share. We act firmly to recover it. We also help overseas heirs claim their inheritance in Karachi through a Power of Attorney, without travelling.

Ask a Question
How is inheritance divided in Pakistan?
Inheritance among Muslims is divided according to Islamic law (Faraid), which fixes each heir's share based on their relationship to the deceased — spouse, children, parents, and others. The legal heirs are first established (often via a NADRA Family Registration Certificate), and then the estate is distributed accordingly. We calculate the shares and enforce the division.
What can I do if I've been denied my share of inheritance?
If an heir refuses to give you your share, or has transferred property to exclude you, you can file for partition and recovery, and to cancel any fraudulent transfer. We establish your entitlement and pursue the case in the civil court to recover what is yours.
Are women's inheritance rights protected in Pakistan?
Yes — daughters, sisters, wives, and mothers all have defined inheritance shares under the law, and depriving a woman of her inheritance is unlawful. Sadly it is common. We act firmly to recover the withheld share through the courts.
Do I need a succession certificate or a letter of administration?
A succession certificate is for movable assets (bank accounts, shares, savings); a letter of administration is for immovable property (land, houses). Many estates need both. We advise which applies and obtain them as part of resolving the dispute.
Can overseas heirs claim their inheritance in Karachi?
Yes. Through a Special Power of Attorney, heirs living abroad can authorise us to establish their share, obtain the succession documents, and pursue partition or recovery on their behalf — handled over WhatsApp and email.
